HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN INDIA AND NEPAL
According to the UN, India is the epicenter of global human
trafficking, with 10-18 million of the world's 40 million enslaved
people.
Nepal is a major source country for sex trafficking to India and for
child marriage. A 20-year Maoist insurgency, the 2015 earthquakes, and
the COVID crisis have exacerbated the problem.

forced into child marriages.
